Dr. Jerald F. Dirks is an American Muslim author and former Methodist minister whose works on the comparative study of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism — published primarily through Amana Publications in Maryland — have made him one of the most consistently published English-language writers in Muslim-Christian comparative religion. Born in 1950 in Kansas, he was raised in a Methodist Christian family, served as a Methodist minister, and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School in 1974.
