Moosaa Richardson Biography

Abu al-'Abbas Moosaa Richardson is an American convert to Islam, Salafi translator, and Director of Education at al-Masjid al-Awwal (the First Muslim Mosque) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is the founder of Bakkah Publications and Bakkah.net, one of the more consistently active American Salafi-line educational platforms, producing translated classical and contemporary Salafi texts, structured workbooks, weekly live English-language lessons, and free online resources for the English-speaking Salafi audience.

Richardson lived in Saudi Arabia for sixteen years from 1998 to 2014, graduating from the Faculty of Da'wah at Umm al-Qura University in Mecca and studying directly with senior Saudi scholars. Through Bakkah Publications he has produced English-language workbook editions of core Salafi educational texts including al-'Aqida al-Tahawiyya, Imam Ahmad's Usul al-Sunna, al-'Aqida al-Wasitiyya, the Bayquniyya poem on hadith terminology, and a rolling series of Ramadan workbooks covering individual surahs of the Qur'an chapter-by-chapter.

Richardson teaches weekly live online classes in English, broadcasts via the First Muslim Mosque's Radio1MM channel, and travels to lecture at Salafi mosques and Islamic centers across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and beyond. His publications and recordings have made him one of the most recognizable contemporary American Salafi educators of his generation, with his workbooks and study guides used in mosques, weekend madrasahs, and homeschool settings worldwide.
