Manna Al-Qattan Biography

Dr. Manna' Khalil al-Qattan (1925 – 1999) was a prominent Egyptian-born Islamic scholar, jurist, and educator who spent most of his professional life in Saudi Arabia. He is widely recognized for his monumental contributions to Islamic sciences, particularly in the fields of Qur'anic studies (Uloom al-Qur'an) and Islamic legislation. Sheikh Manna memorized the Holy Quran during his childhood in his village. He attended the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo, where he excelled in Islamic jurisprudence and Arabic language studies. During his academic years in Egypt, he became active in Islamic dawah (preaching) and intellectual movements. Sheikh Manna' al-Qattan passed away in 1999 (1420 AH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was buried there. Rahemaho Allah.
