Amelia Horton Biography

Amelia Horton was born in San Diego, California, and she accepted Islam in her early 20s. She has worked in the field of education for almost 20 years, and is passionate about supporting children in developing the knowledge, understanding, and skills they need to become capable leaders of the Muslim Community. She wrote the book "The Islamic Calendar" as an engaging educational resource for Muslim children, and their parents and educators, to gain understanding of the significance of the Islamic calendar and its central place in everyday life. Amelia now offers workshops (in-person and online) to help children, teens, and adults know their calendar and follow it, inshaAllah.
