Abdur-Razaq Al-Abad Biography

Dr. Abdur-Razzaq ibn Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad al-Badr is a contemporary Saudi scholar specializing in Islamic creed (aqidah), and one of the regular teachers at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah. Born on 22 Dhu al-Qa'dah 1382 AH / 15 May 1963 CE in the town of az-Zulfi north of Riyadh, he is the son of the renowned hadith scholar Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad al-Badr, the muhaddith of Madinah, who remains his closest teacher and mentor.

Al-Badr earned his PhD in aqidah from the Islamic University of Madinah, where he now serves as a professor on the teaching faculty. He was appointed by the Saudi government as a permanent teacher at the Prophet's Mosque, occupying the same teaching seat as his father. His other prominent teachers include Imam Abdul-Aziz ibn Baz and Imam Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen. He is among the most prolific writers of his generation, with works spanning tawhid, dhikr, the names and attributes of Allah, explanations of classical creedal texts, and pastoral guidance for everyday Muslim practice.

Al-Badr is widely respected for his measured and devotional teaching style, and remains an active voice in contemporary Salafi scholarship from Madinah.
